Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures
The Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) was1 an industry task force mandated with developing voluntary and consistent climate-related disclosures that would be useful to investors, lenders, and insurance underwriters in understanding material climate related risks2.
Footnotes
The TCFD was disbanded in October, 2023 after fulfilling its remit. The FSB asked the IFRS Foundation to take over the monitoring of the progress of companies’ climate-related disclosures. Companies can continue to use the TCFD recommendations should they choose to do so, and some may still be required to use them. The IFRS notes that using the recommendations is a good entry point for companies as they move to use the ISSB Standards.↩︎
