Back in 2023, I took a huge risk and traveled to Dublin, Ireland, to study an MSc in Economics at UCD Belfield. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, but that’s a story for another day.
One of the amenities that UCD offers is the James Joyce Library (JJL), a three-level library located right next to the Newman building. Level 3 of JJL has the most beautiful scenery. Honestly, if you have to stress over complex econometric models or understand how the Central Bank of Ireland manages inflation, what better place to do it than somewhere gorgeous, right?
I already mentioned that I love studying, so you can imagine I spent a huge amount of time here. Funny enough, I’m writing this post from this space, only this time, I’m here as an alumni.
It wasn’t all glamour at first, though. The waste disposal system at the library really threw me off. Not that I don’t know what recyclables are, I just couldn’t quite figure out what exactly falls under “general waste”.
